A Warm & Hearty Breakfast for Cold Mornings
Posted Monday, October 17, 2011 by Mike Hanley

With the cooler weather nearing I thought it would be a good time to give you guys one of my favorite breakfast meals. This meal taste like a dessert and is packed full of nutrients. Some of the members have heard me talk about it already but for those of you haven't here you go.
This is a great way to make your oatmeal in the morning giving it the proper amount of protein and healthy fats.
This meal can be used as a breakfast as well as a postworkout meal because it has your starch in it. So we will label this meal as a BF or PW
Ingrediants:
- 1/2-1 cup Old Fashion Oatmeal
- 1-2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Almond Butter or Peanut Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Flax Meal
- Dash of Cinnamon
- Splash of Almond Milk
Directions:
- Take 1/2 to 1 cup of oats dry and put water in it and microwave. (Men use 1 cup, Woman 1/2 cup)
- Take 1-2 scoops of Vanilla Protein Powder (Men use 2 scoops, Woman use 1 scoop) and place in oatmeal
- Take 1 tsp of Nut Butter (I prefer the Almond in this meal but both are tasty) and place in oatmeal
- Take 1 tbsp of Flax Meal and place in oatmeal
- Sprinkle Cinnamon on the top
- Pour a splash of Almond Milk on top
- Mix it all together
- Sit & Enjoy!
This Winter porridge takes about 3 minutes to make and has everything you need to make a perfect breakfast. The oats give you your morning starch. You get the protein from the vanilla powder. Add in your healthy fats with the almond butter as well as the Flax meal (which also has your fiber for the meal). Top it off with some cinnamon and almond milk for taste. Cinnamon is also known to help aid in fat burning.
Give this Hearty Meal a try and leave a comment on what you thought!
FYI - We will be posting a recipe each week so if there is something you would like to see and are not sure if it is an acceptable meal let us know and we will post a blog about it.
